Luckily, you don’t have to buy a new pair of shoes every time you leave the house if you wont to stop them from smelling so bad.
According to the pros at BobVila there’s a cheap and easy way to banish those nasty smells this summer and you’ve probably already got it in your kitchen cupboards.
They said: “Those balmy feet quickly lead to stinky shoes. Bacteria on your feet feed off of sweat and produce a by-product with a pungent scent that’s hard to erase once it’s there.”
Using baking soda is a simple way to neutralise those grim smells without having to go out of your way to buy deodorising products that usually aren’t cheap.

The pros explained: “Simply pour some into your shoes and let them sit overnight.
“The powder will soak up excess moisture while you sleep, leaving your kicks clean and dry in the morning.”
They also recommended adding a few drops of essential oils if you’ve got especially stinky toes.
Once the powder has worked it’s magic overnight you can simply empty the contents of your shoes into the bin and wear your fresh smelling shoes as normal.

If dealing with smelly shoes is an everyday occurrence for you, the pros suggested filling some thin socks up with baking soda.
They said: “Once you’ve sopped up the extra moisture, craft a pair of homemade deodorizers to slip into your shoes between uses.
“Fill a pair of socks (or feet cut from nylon stockings) with baking soda, and knot the ends of each.”
