Love Island’s Adam Collard ‘only took part in conversations to return while single’ after it was claimed he was in the process of buying a house with ex-girlfriend Josie Baxter.
Adam entered the villa after the drama of Casa Amor was just starting to die down, in an attempt to win over the affections of the remaining girls.
Long-term fans of the dating show will remember Adam took part in series four and is the first islander to ever make a return to the programme.
However, he also faced criticism during his initial stint for his treatment towards some of the female islanders, including Rosie Williams and Zara McDermott.
Adam was in a relationship with personal trainer Josie, who he only recently broke up with.
‘I only really got out of a relationship like two months ago, just over that, but I sat on it for a while. I seem to get a nosebleed at like 18 months,’ Adam said in the villa earlier this week.
But after it was reported he was in the process of buying a house with his ex, who he had been with for two years, it’s been claimed Adam was definitely single when he initially began talks with show bosses.

A source close to Adam told Metro.co.uk: ‘Adam’s only conversations about returning to Love Island were when he was single.
‘Adam was very clear about that during conversations with the team on the show. It’s disappointing unnamed people feel the need to suggest otherwise, especially when Adam has no means of defending himself from these allegations.
‘We would urge fans to listen to Adam’s own words on the show.’
Josie herself has spoken out on the claims, and insisted the pair are ‘still friends’ and remain close, despite his return to the villa.
Writing on her Instagram, she said: ‘ I have so far chosen not to speak out on the current situation. It is a very sensitive subject to me and not something I ever wanted to deal with in the public eye.

‘I still have a strong friendship with Adam and we are still working together and will continue to do so.’
The PT went on to add: ‘Misleading stories are being written which isn’t okay. Please respect that I don’t want to speak on this matter again.’
She was soon flooded with support from followers in the replies, who sent their love amid the situation.
Previous reports claimed the pair were serious about their future together, with a source saying: ‘As far as Josie was concerned they were serious, they were looking to buy a house together.

‘Everything unravelled pretty quickly after Adam first spoke to Love Island at the end of April.
‘It’s very awkward as they obviously both work together and so everyone at the gym knows what has been going on. Newcastle is a small place and people talk,’ they told The Sun.
Earlier this week, dumped islander Jazmin Nichol revealed she knew Adam through an ex-boyfriend, and hinted he was back in the villa for the wrong reasons.

Speaking during a recent interview on the Murad Merali podcast, she told listeners: ‘He’s definitely trouble. Well, he had a girlfriend right until he came on.
‘Like when I left he still had a girlfriend who he lived with, put that in context. [He] wants to get more fame.’
