Love Island winner Amber Gill has weighed in on the current series and she doesn’t think any of the current couples will last.

The 24-year-old reality star turned romance novelist – who won the 2019 series alongside ex Greg O’Shea – is still a huge fan of the ITV2 dating show, but she isn’t seeing true love in the villa pairings during the current run.

Asked about which couples have real signs of love and who she might ‘bet for’, she told Loose Women: ‘None of them. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t really – Gemma and Luca, maybe? I don’t know!’

Pressed on who might win, she told the daytime programme’s panel: ‘No idea at this point!’

Despite the uncertainty, Amber is loving the current series and can’t get enough of the villa antics as she enjoys watching from the comfort of her own sofa.

‘I love it way more! I’m a superfan, now that I’ve been on it! I absolutely love it,’ she beamed. ‘This one’s chaos, and I love it. I’ve never watched one episode so messy, and I’m here for it!’

One contestant who has caught her eye is Danica, and Amber admitted she didn’t have the same no-nonsense approach back when she was in Majorca.

‘I keep calling her Danica from HR, she’s very much from HR. I wasn’t like that, I’m very laid back,’ she laughed.

Away from Love Island, Amber – who revealed she is ‘single at the minute’ – has been focused on her new literary career after penning her debut romance novel Until I Met You through Mills & Boon.

‘It was so nice. I completely forgot about my own love life while I was writing it because I was loving the creative process, building up all the characters. I just had the best time,’ she beamed

And while some of her own experiences might have made it onto the page, she’s been keen to stretch her creative muscles by creating her own world in the novel removed from her actual life.

‘I’ve always had a passion in English and writing, but I never thought I was good enough to do anything like that. It’s hard to know,’ she said. ‘I try to keep it away from me because I want to be creative.’

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV. Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
