Rylan Clark will not stand for anyone talking badly about his mum and, honestly, we feel him.

The Essex pair are a firm favourite on Celebrity Gogglebox, as Rylan and Linda are forever brightening up our Friday nights with their mother and son antics.

However, it seems not everyone sees the funny side of their banter, with some social media trolls accusing the Big Brother star of being ‘horrible’ to queen Linda – who, we must point out, is responsible for some of the most iconic Gogglebox moments ever.

Friday’s episode saw the pair in fits of giggles when Linda asked Rylan if he had any more ‘chicken sushi’, well, at least that’s what she was trying to say.

Instead, she had a bit of trouble pronouncing the word, so it sounded more like ‘suchet’.

Linda kept asking her son to repeat the word, but he encouraged her to keep trying, before she gave up and refused: ‘No, I’m not saying it’, she told him.

She resorted to asking for ‘chicken with breadcrumbs round it’, before telling her son to ‘p**s off’.

After some viewers accused the Radio 2 presenter of mocking his mum, he was quick to shut down the claims.

‘Rylan is so mean to his mum on #CelebrityGogglebox it’s so uncomfortable to watch’, one person wrote.

Rylan tweeted in response: ‘For anyone saying im horrible to mum please get a sense of humour, she got her sushi…. Also built her a house, whatever she asks for, and a new hedge trimmer this week….. she’s good’.

He added: ‘Look after your mums, and also have a laugh with them’, before signing off with, ‘Until next year’, following the series finale of the Channel 4 show.

Fans rushed to shower the hilarious duo with love, with plenty championing Linda for her own show, and others saying the pair are the ‘best thing’ about Gogglebox.

‘Rylan’s mum on gogglebox is the highlight of my week’, one Twitter user wrote.

‘I love the relationship you have with your mum, you laugh together and take the micky but you can see how much your mum means to you. Treasure every moment together’, another told the star.

Another added: ‘It’s blindingly obvious how much you adore your mum as she does you. You have a fantastic relationship and you both make me laugh.’

Rylan’s mum has not only cemented herself as a Gogglebox treasure over recent years, but also a favourite on her son’s radio show.

The Supermarket Sweep host has said in the past that the duo have been offered so many deals together, but they’ve had to turn them down for a sad reason.

‘We’ve been offered hundreds of things. We got asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and go there. It would be hilarious, but she’s just not well enough to do it,’ he told Daily Star.

‘Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we’re just sat in my kitchen.’
