Jeremy Clarkson’s former girlfriend has sensationally revealed the ex-Top Gear presenter hung up on her as she went to hospital to check if her seriously ill dad was ‘dead or alive’ – because he was at the pub.
Phillipa Sage dated the Clarkson’s Farm star for seven years before they called it quits in 2017 – and is now dishing all the dirt on their romance.
In one shocking claim, the 52-year-old said she called Jeremy before going to visit her dad, who sadly died last month, but he rejected the call.
Phillipa said Jeremy had been prepping for a major project and she assumed he was unable to pick up the phone because he was busy working.
But in fact the 62-year-old, who Phillipa describes as a ‘needy whatsit’, was enjoying a few tipples at the boozer.
In an interview with the MailOnline, Phillipa said: ‘Jeremy was due to fly out to Africa to film their first big film for Amazon and I thought he was focusing on his new job. He said he’d gone to the office because he was very busy with all the production.

‘My dad [who sadly died last month] had a terrible accident falling down the stairs. I was on my way to the hospital to see if he was dead or alive.
‘I knew Jeremy would want to speak to me before getting on the plane being the needy whatsit he is and obviously I wanted to speak to him because I was upset about my dad.

‘When I called, he shut the phone off which he never does. I thought, “Oh, he must be in a meeting”. Because I thought he was in the office.
‘Eventually, I found out he was in the pub.’

Phillipa, who has written a book about their relationship called The Wonderful World Of Jeremy Clarkson out next week, also said she was ‘shocked’ to learn Jeremy’s Diddly Squat farm dream was being turned into a television show.
‘I’m shocked at what he’s done with it now because I thought he always wanted to keep his private life private. He wanted peace and quiet,’ she said.
Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
