Petra Ecclestone has blown all other wedding gifts out of the water after surprising her new husband Sam Palmer with an actual, legit FA Cup – that he can keep.
The happy couple tied the knot on Saturday at their sprawling £170million mansion in Chelsea, with guests including Petra’s father Bernie Ecclestone, sister Tamara and her husband Jay Rutland.
At the lavish wedding reception, billionairess Petra, 33, couldn’t wait to present Sam, 38, with her wedding present to him – and any football fan would be impressed.
In his Instagram stories, Sam shared photos of himself proudly cuddling up to both his wife and his other shiny new pride and joy – the 1980 FA Cup which was won by his favourite team West Ham in their match against Arsenal at Wembley that year.
Holding up the huge trophy during the wedding reception, the businessman wrote in the caption: ‘Going to sleep with the 1980 FA Cup next to my bed. It has to go gown as the greatest wedding gift of all time.’
His brother-in-law and close friend Jay, who is married to Petra’s sister Tamara, also shared a snap of Sam holding the prize and quipped: ‘Not a picture I thought I would ever take.’

As a devoted West Ham fan, Sam will likely know that Trevor Brooking scored the single goal that earned his beloved team the FA Cup that year, so he has the midfielder to thank for the trophy being in his possession all these decades later.
Petra and Sam’s nuptials are said to have taken place at 5pm on Saturday evening in the landscaped gardens of their Georgian mansion, with the couple saying their vows to the sound of a string quartet. Sister of the bride Tamara, 38, gave a speech at the reception, describing her sister as her best friend and recalling childhood memories.
Formula One boss Bernie, 91, was not spotted but it’s thought he gave his daughter away, as is tradition.

High-profile guests including Paris Hilton were expected to attend, while footballer Cesc Fabregas and his wife Daniella Semaan were seen leading the star-studded arrivals.
Petra met Sam in 2017 through her brother-in-law Jay, and they announced their engagement a year later.
The couple are parents to 18-month-old daughter Millie, while Petra has three children – Lavinia, nine, James, seven, and Andrew, seven – from her marriage to James Stunt.
Petra was married to James from 2011 to 2017 before divorcing.
