Armie Hammer has been pictured in Los Angeles for the first time since his return from the Cayman Islands amid his retreat from public life.

The Call Me By Your Name actor, who last year faced allegations of sexual assault, which he has denied, was seen heading to the LA County Service Center to update sme paperwork, and stopped to take a selfie with a fan.

Hammer donned a T-shirt and shorts and wore a mask as he headed out in LA, shortly after returning from the Cayman Islands.

The actor’s ex-wife Chambers recently spoke out on her husband’s situation as she stepped out in LA.

She seemed to confirm that Robert Downey Jr is helping Hammer, after reports emerged that the Marvel actor had helped to fund Hammer’s stint in rehab, saying: ‘I think it’s good.’

Chambers reportedly added (via MailOnline): ‘Everybody needs help.’

She also declined to comment on whether Hammer had been working at a hotel or selling timeshare in the Cayman Islands – a claim Hammer’s lawyer previously denied.

‘I really couldn’t talk about that,’ she said. ‘But I think he’s happy and that’s good.’

It comes after Hammer’s lawyer denied reports that he was working at a hotel in the Cayman Islands while living there.

This month, a viral tweet did the rounds which showed a flyer emblazoned with the 35-year-old Social Network actor’s face, claiming he was an employee of Morritt’s Resort.

But the star’s lawyer Andrew Brettler confirmed the flyer is fake and a hotel staffer (an actual one) who also spoke to Variety over the phone said the picture all boiled down to a prank.

Hammer retreated from public life last year and checked into a rehab facility for seven months following allegations of sexual assault and cannibalism fantasies, all of which he denied.

In January 2021, unverified messages, allegedly from Hammer, were leaked online in which the sender had cannibalistic and disturbing sexual fantasies and wanted the recipients of the messages to be his slaves.

Then in March, a 24-year-old woman, known as Effie, claimed to have had an on/off relationship with Hammer for four years after meeting him on Facebook in 2016.

She alleged that he had ‘violently’ assaulted her for four hours, repeatedly hitting her head against a wall.

Hammer’s lawyer called the allegations ‘outrageous’ and issued a statement to Metro.co.uk, which read: ‘Effie’s own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations. As recently as July 18, 2020, [she] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her. Mr. Hammer responded making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her. The screenshot below is just one of hundreds [she] sent to Mr. Hammer.

‘It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose her fetishes or kinky sexual desires, but she has now escalated this matter to another level by hiring a civil lawyer to host a public press conference. With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight.’

He continued: ‘From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [her] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory. [Her] attention seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.’

Last year, the actor – who shares two children with estranged wife Chambers, seven-year-old daughter Harper and five-year-old son Ford – left the upcoming series The Offer (a series on the making of The Godfather), was replaced by Josh Duhamel in the film Shotgun Wedding, and was dropped from Cold War drama Billion Dollar Spy – thought to be the final film on his slate.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Armie Hammer for comment.
