Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill has admitted he’s missing his fellow male islanders, after he made a dramatic exit from the programme earlier this month.

The former rugby league star entered the villa as a bombshell looking to turn the girls’ heads, and is also the ex-boyfriend of Gemma Owen

He won over Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne, but the pair ended up torn apart after she discovered his antics in Casa Amor

She also decided to spend some time getting to know Adam Collard after things broke down, and shortly after, Jacques left the Villa.

However, while he took some time to return to social media after his exit, he posted another sweet update on Instagram, and it’s clear he’s excited to reunite with the lads.

He shared a group snap with some of the other male islanders, with the caption: ‘Island boyzzzz 🏝 Missing the boys a lot.’

The ex-islander also shared cute snaps with fellow eliminated contestant Antigoni Buxton, who he was hanging out with on Monday.

So we’re glad to see he’s still got a strong relationship with his fellow islanders.

He told host Laura Whitmore: ‘The first thing I did when I got home was watch the episode with my mum – that last episode. I said to my mum ‘listen I’ve got no more tears left’. I’d been so emotional.

‘I literally stuck it on and put a brave face on for my mum and looked at her and we were just like “offt”.’

At the weekend, Jacques posted a lengthy statement, which came shortly after his first interview since exiting the Villa.

He began: ‘Where do I start… What a rollercoaster of emotions that was from start to finish! Since leaving the villa I’ve had time to reflect on my time being in there and if I’m going to be completely honest I wasn’t mentally prepared for how it was going to be at all – underestimated it massively!

‘The first 2 weeks of my experience were probably the happiest I’ve been in a very long time. On the other hand, the last 2 weeks were definitely the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. I was finding myself feeling worse and worse every day and if I didn’t leave when I did I was scared I would never have got back to my normal self!’

He went on to admit he watched the episodes back that he ‘got the most hate for’, and ‘understands’ why fans weren’t happy with his actions.

The ex-rugby player told The Sun he feared things could get out of control and ‘go horribly wrong’ if he didn’t walk away from the programme, worrying that the situation with Adam ‘could get physical.’

‘At home, you can remove yourself from situations, but in there you had to deal with every situation, and in that moment I took my microphone off, and walked straight through the front doors because I just wanted to get out of that place,’ he admitted.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
