Bridgerton confirmed production on its third season has officially started, after the cast posed for a cute teaser released by Netflix.

Fans have been obsessed with the period drama since it landed on our screens in Christmas 2020.

Earlier this year, season three newcomer Simone Ashley won the heart of Jonathan Bailey’s charming Anthony Bridgerton, after the latter was originally set up with her sister.

It was revealed the upcoming season three would be set to focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka gossip queen Lady Whistledown, and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton)

Now, the cast have confirmed they’re back filming, after a teaser landed on social media on Wednesday.

The short clip features snippets with fan favourite cast members putting up three fingers as a signifier of the new season.

At the end, actress Nicola, whose character will feature heavily, says from a carriage: ‘Bridgerton season 3 filming has officially begun, you coming in?,’ with her co-star Luke replying: ‘Let’s go.’

The series has added Daniel Francis (Stay Close), Sam Phillips (The Crown), and James Phoon (Wreck) to its cast.

Francis plays Marcus Anderson, described as a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters and will charm the matriarchs.

Phillips plays Lord Debling, a genial lord with unusual interests. But with wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities, he’ll have no shortage of interest from young ladies this season.

Elsewhere, Phoon plays Harry Dankworth, who is reportedly less witty and intelligent, but more than makes up for it in the looks department.

Earlier this year, Nicola confirmed the storyline for season three would hone in on her character’s romance with Colin.

In a stunning black and white snap, Nicola later shared a picture of her and Luke posing for the camera on Instagram.

She wrote: ‘Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time… but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story ❤️’

Bridgerton can be streamed in full on Netflix now.
