Love Island fans are desperate for Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to replace Laura Whitmore as host after she displayed her presenting skills on Wednesday night.

During the episode, the 27-year-old actress was selected to reveal which male contestant the girls had decided to eliminate in the brutal double dumping, which ultimately saw Billy Brown and Summer Botwe sent packing.

Ekin-Su was cool, calm, and confident as she explained the girls’ reasonings, and told current host: ‘So, it was a very difficult choice for us because both boys bring such good vibes and great energy.

‘We had to weigh the pros and cons between all of us.’

She continued: ‘Obviously the boy that we gravitated towards, he brings out such lovely vibes in everyone else, he gets along with everyone, makes us laugh, makes us smile. But the most important; there is a very strong connection here.

‘So, the boy we would like to save is, Dami.’

Viewers were seriously impressed by the Ekin-Su’s delivery and immediately flooded social media calling for the contestant to be made a permanent Love Island fixture.

‘Ekin-Su should host Love Island after the series ends,’ one wrote. ‘She has that energy & sexy power to command the role.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘Ekin-Su announcing that result. So smooth. So natural. Ekin-Su for host!’

Not mincing their words, another penned: ‘Laura needs to be replaced by Ekin-Su next year for the Love Island host.’

I do see Ekin-Su hosting @LoveIsland some day, she has the energy & the way she speaks for it, back then I didn’t see a contestant host the show but like some people on here have said, I actually do see her hosting it & she will take it seriously like @carolineflack1! #LoveIsland

Although it’s not yet been confirmed whether Laura will front the next edition of Love Island, it’s likely she won’t be going anywhere – especially as ITV bosses have confirmed that the show will air two seasons a year going forward, with the next series set to air in January.

Yep, that’s right, the beloved show will be back on our screens once again in the New Year, with a fresh batch of contestants heading to South Africa on a quest for love and romance.

‘Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience,’ Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller, ITV2, previously said.

‘So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show.’

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
