American Pickers star Mike Wolfe has asked fans to ‘pray’ for his former co-star Frank Fritz, who has been hospitalised with a stroke.

The pair starred on the reality show together since its debut in 2010, but Fritz announced he was leaving last year due to health problems, including suffering from Crohn’s disease and back surgery.

The History Channel series follows Wolfe, 56, and Fritz, also 56, travelling around America on the hunt for antique treasures.

But now Wolfe has shared the sad news that his friend has suffered a stroke.

He took to Instagram to write: ‘I have been very private in the past year in regards to Franks life and the journey he’s been on.

‘There has been lots of opinions in regards to mine and Frank’s friendship and the show but now is not the time to set the record straight.

‘Now is the time to pray for my friend.

Frank has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital.

‘Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts.’

Wolfe concluded: ‘Frank I pray more than anything that you make it through this okay. I love you buddy.’

When it was announced Fritz had quit the show, Wolfe had called him ‘like a brother’, and shared on Instagram: ‘I have known Frank for as long as I can remember, he’s been like a brother to me.

‘The journey that Frank, Dani (Danielle), and I started back in 2009, like all of life, has come with its highs and lows, blessings and challenges, but it has also been the most rewarding.

‘I will miss Frank, just like all of you, and I pray for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.’

However, Fritz later revealed in an interview with The Sun, that Wolfe’s statement was, he thought, ‘b******t.’

‘Mike’s statement was bullshit, somebody wrote it out for him. We never were friends in grade school. I don’t believe in ten years he’s said five nice things to me, you know? Unless he was cutting somebody else down and we were both laughing,’ Fritz said.
