Love Island’s Luca Bish and Gemma Owen have been accused of being ‘salty’ after Davide Sanclimenti asked Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to be exclusive with him during Sunday’s episode of the ITV2 reality show.

Before four islanders were dumped from the villa, Davide finally popped the question with a homemade tiramisu (because a way to a woman’s heart is through her chest), much to the delight of viewers at home.

However, Luca seemed a bit irked by the situation and quickly declared there are now three couples in villa, not counting himself and Gemma.

‘You’re technically exclusive, you always have,’ Ekin-Su reassured him. ‘You are boyfriend and girlfriend, you don’t need to say it, it’s really obvious. You just need to meet the parents, that’s it.’

Ekin-Su also branded the pair ‘husband and wife’ and the compliment appeared to please Luca, who confessed he was happy by the remark.

‘It’s given me clarity,’ he joked.

But Gemma didn’t seem to take the comment well and swiftly commanded Luca to ‘shut up’.

‘You’re being bitter,’ she quipped.

Luca was quick to deny Gemma’s accusation, but she continued: ‘We didn’t do something like that to know that we are exclusive and I’d prefer it to be this way.’

‘What about when I ask you to be boyfriend and girlfriend?’ Luca quizzed.

‘That would be different,’ she responded.

Viewers were puzzled by the scenes at hand with many commenting that Luca and Gemma came across as bitter.

‘Okay why can’t Gemma and Luca just be happy for Ekin and Davide???’ one asked.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘10000% Gemma and Luca are jealous of Ekin and Davide, stop being spiteful and wanting all the attention, and be happy for someone else.’

‘I did not like Luca and Gemma’s reaction one bit to Ekin and Davide being exclusive like why are you so bitter,’ a third raged.

Earlier this week, Davide and Ekin-Su were the bookies’ favourites to win this year’s Love Island following the fallout from Mad Movies.
