Rage Against The Machine star Tom Morello got caught up in the crosshairs of his security guard and a fan who invaded the stage at the band’s latest gig.
The Los Angeles rock band were in the middle of their set in Toronto, Canada on Saturday when an over-zealous member of the crowd suddenly stormed the stage.
It appears the incident took place at the end of the show as RATM were performing their famous hit Killing In The Name.
Footage shot by another audience member shows the moment the fan, wearing a red T-shirt, runs onto the stage using stairs at the side and bounding towards Morello.
One of the band’s security guards acted immediately and hurtled towards the stage invader as Morello, who was standing at the edge near to the crowd, casually attempted to move to the side. However, the guitarist apparently didn’t react quick enough as the security guard accidentally tackled Morello, 58, to the ground instead as he made a dive towards the fan.
The invader tumbled down into the stage pit while Morello was knocked over, falling to the ground with his security.

Another clip shows the fan attempting to escape into the crowd before being apprehended by other guards.
The remaining RATM members continued to play on momentarily as the shocking incident unfolded, but lead singer Zach de la Rocha, who was performing from a chair after injuring his leg during a previous gig, noticed the mishap and shouted into the mic: ‘Hold up, hold up!’
At this point, Morello promptly emerged from the ground and pumped his arms in the air towards the audience, who supportively cheered him on.

The musician, who is yet to speak out about the drama, seemed to be unharmed and RATM restarted Killing In The Name to close out the show properly.
Rage Against The Machine have certainly had an eventful tour so far, as the band used one of their recent shows to condemn the Supreme Court overturning the Roe v Wade decision regarding abortion rights in the US.
They then pledged to donate $475,000 (£387,000) to abortion access, while Morello shared a personal story following the heartbreaking ruling.
‘My great grandmother, Mary Maude Fitzgerald, died from an illegal, unsafe abortion,’ he tweeted.
‘Her widower, Thomas Fitzgerald, an itinerant worker, couldn’t raise their 3 kids alone & sent them off to families that took them as servants. He died alone of TB in a work camp. #WeWillNotGoBack.’
Rage Against The Machine’s tour continues Monday night at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
