Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has been accused of ‘animal abuse’ after letting her kids paint on her horse.

The US star, 31, rose to prominence after she was cast in the reality TV series 16 and Pregnant in 2009, before appearing on Teen Mom later that year after giving birth to Sophia Laurent Abraham.

She shares Sophia with Derek Underwood, who was tragically killed in a car accident while the show was filming.

Now, Farrah lives a lavish lifestyle in the States, which includes owning a horse called Starburst – and it’s safe to say he looked like a literal packet of Starburst after being subject to the artistic talents of a bunch of kids.

Farrah shared an image of her horse showing his body covered in colourful drawings, like butterflies and love hearts.

His pristine mane was also splattered with green, blue, and purple stripes.

Farrah wrote on her Instagram: ‘Starburst hosted her first birthday party! We’re so proud of this birthday wish come true!’

‘Starburst let the kiddos paint unicorn designs, pet and feed her!’, she added.

It’s safe to say followers were not happy, leaving strongly-worded comments to accuse the mum-of-one of ‘cruelty’ and ‘disrespect’.

‘I cant believe that no one has reported this that lives in the area. This is animal cruelty,’ one follower began, with another adding: ‘This is awful. This is NOT cute, that poor horse’.

Plenty of people went on to tag PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in the comments, calling for ‘someone to rescue this poor thing’.

Taking a softer approach, another fan commented: ‘I’m sure that starburst made some little lady extremely happy. Please don’t alter her natural beauty in any way. Letting the children draw on her was probably the highlight of their day, but it isn’t good for Starburst.’

This isn’t the first time Farrah has been accused of mistreating animals, as she was called out in 2020 for putting a muzzle on her new puppy.

She was then subject to more allegations of animal abuse after posting a video of dogs Boo and Cupcake, in which one of them had a ribbon tied around her mouth.

Pomeranian Boo’s fur was dyed blue and Cupcake was bright pink.

At the time, PETA issued a statement, telling The Sun that the TV star needs to ‘start treating dogs like more than fashion accessories or surrender them to someone who will love them unconditionally.’

Left with no choice but to respond, Farrah later told the publication: ‘Haters made up a ribbon is on my pets, which is false. We use a muzzle per a trainer’s review for her training, which are sold at all pet stores.’

She added that her daughter treats her dogs ‘like royalty’, claiming that her pets have been ‘trained to the guidelines of the law.’

Reps for Farrah and PETA have been contacted for comment.
