The Last Of Us PC debut will come ‘very soon’ after PS5 launch – fans unconvinced-Michael Beckwith-Entertainment – Metro

Sony and Naughty Dog haven’t really talked about it much, but the PlayStation 5 remake of The Last Of Us is also meant to be coming to PC.
The announcement trailer confirmed that the remake is in development for PC, but it didn’t provide a release date, suggesting that it will not be available in September like the PlayStation 5 version.
While details remain thin, it doesn’t sound like PC owners will need to wait that much longer, at least according to a Naughty Dog employee.
Senior environment texture artist Jonathan Benainous, while speaking with a fan, said that the PC version will release ‘very soon after the PS5 release.’
Benainous’ comment could suggest that the PC version will be out before the end of the year, or at least early next year.
Some Twitter responses, however, don’t seem particularly optimistic about it, with a few drawing comparisons with another Naughty Dog game, Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection.
It too was announced for both PlayStation 5 and PC, with the latter said to release ‘shortly after the PS5 version,’ according to the PlayStation Blog.
And it still could be somewhere in 2023. UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection was about to launch „shortly after PS5” on PC. We’re in July and still nothing.

I’m guessing it won’t be this year but hope it isn’t like half a year later, still waiting on that Uncharted PC port haha

It will likely coincide with the HBO series launch, which I’m guessing is in the first half 2023. I wouldn’t expect it this year. I’m going to guess around 6 months after the PS5 version.

Despite it launching for PlayStation 5 in January, there is still no sign of the PC version half a year later. Hardly what you’d describe as a short wait.

It’s worth stressing that Iron Galaxy, not Naughty Dog, is handling the PC port of Uncharted. As for The Last Of Us Part 1, Sony hasn’t said which studio is in charge of its PC version.
The Last Of Us Part 1 remains a contentious project, as many are unconvinced that it needs a remake to begin with. It doesn’t appear to boast any significant gameplay improvements despite Naughty Dog’s insistence and, despite the PlayStation 4 remaster still being easily available, the remake will cost you £70.
The Last Of Us Part 1 releases for PlayStation 5 on September 2.
