Beyonce has posed for a number of striking images on horses ahead of her upcoming album release Renaissance. What’s with that?

Naturally, there’s been an eruption of hype for her the legendary artist’s brand new album, especially after the release of the first single, Break My Soul, last month, which has already been hailed the song of the summer.

In the run up to Friday’s Renaissance launch, Bey has also been serving up looks in a number of photoshoots where she’s sat atop different horses, including the album cover itself.

But what’s the reason for the inclusion of these horses?

Let’s get into it…

First things first, Beyonce’s love for horses is no secret

Beyonce and her fondness for horses has been seen many times before, don’t forget.

She’s previously incorporated the animal in her music videos, including Run The World (Girls) and Daddy Lessons.

On top of that, many fans will remember how she centred her 2021 Ivy Park collection around cowboy and cowgirl culture.

Beyonce is a horse girl, basically.

Is Beyonce’s Renaissance album artwork a nod to Bianca Jagger and the disco era?

Many fans have linked Beyonce atop the disco horse on her Renaissance album artwork to the iconic photo of Bianca Jagger on a white horse inside Studio 54.

Of course, the legendary New York City nightclub of yesteryear was famed for its hedonism in the disco era, so could this be a glaring clue as to the direction Bey is taking with her new music?

The famous picture of Bianca was taken on May 2, 1977, and despite the whisperings, she denies having ridden the horse into the popular venue.

‘It was a beautiful white horse that reminded me of mine,’ Bianca previously wrote. ‘And I made the foolish decision to get on it for a few minutes… No doubt you will agree with me that it is one thing to, on the spur of the moment, to get on a horse in a nightclub, but it is quite another to ride in on one.

‘As an environmentalist and an animal rights defender, I find the insinuation that I would ride a horse into a nightclub offensive … I hope that you can understand the difference between ‘coming in’ on a horse and getting on one.”’

Fans reckon that Beyonce’s disco horse album cover hints that she’ll be headed down a more disco route with her new music.

‘I just made the connection that Beyonce’s cover is a homage to Bianca Jagger arriving on a horse at Studio 54 in 1977. We really are getting a disco/dance album,’ one guessed.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said: ‘Bianca Jagger at Studio 54, 1977 and Beyonce hinting Studio 54 on the Vogue Cover. She’s giving us a feel good disco dance album and I’m so excited!!’

Is there a darker meaning to Beyonce’s British Vogue horse shoot, or is it just really giving us Renaissance vibes?

Besides her album artwork, Beyonce also looked sat elegantly on a red horse in a photoshoot for British Vogue.

Many have delved deep into what could be the meaning behind the red horse, with some totally convinced it’s a reference to the four horsemen of the apocalypse (yes, really).

Others, however, noted how it neatly ties into the Renaissance theme, given that the species were very significant during that particular era.

‘Beyonce’s ode to the Renaissance period appears deep-rooted in symbolic imagery and the catalyst to a much-needed change of the status quo in the music industry, but also symbolic of a change arising in America,’ one theorised. ‘A Queen who knows her world history.’

‘The red horse is a highly symbolic animal and has been for centuries,’ another pointed out. ‘It is a symbol of war, destruction, anger, passion, destruction, and bloodshed.’

Could Beyonce be about to unleash hell with her new album?

Is Beyonce’s obsession with horses purely a link to her Texas heritage?

Beyonce was born in Houston, Texas, and many fans believe that her passion for all things equine is simply a powerful link to her roots.

‘Everybody keep talking about Beyonce on this damn horse maybeeee she just likes horses n is she from Texas,’ one wrote. ‘Stop tryna make everything a thing.’

‘Y’all talkin bout Beyoncé is ushering in the apocalypse cuz of the horses,’ said another.

‘Babe, She’s from Texas…… maybe she just likes horses and wants to have a disco yeehaw moment I-.’

That’s us told…
