The celebrities are celebrating after the Lionesses’ triumph over Sweden, taking them through to the Women’s Euros final.
Gary Lineker, Wayne Rooney, Prince William, and more have shared their pride over the team’s win and are backing them all the way for the big game on Sunday.
England sailed through to the final of the 2022 Women’s European Championship after thrashing Sweden 4-0 in Sheffield.
It’d be fair to say the game presented challenges, with a number of tense moments as the opposition edged towards the goal.
However, thanks to goals from Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze, substitute Alessia Russo, and Fran Kirby the Lionnesses are on their way to Wembley, where they will meet Germany or France.
Sharing his excitement over the win, former professional Lineker took to Twitter to write: ‘Fabulous performance and win for @Lionesses. Wonderful.’, followed by a series of clapping emoji.

Elsewhere, women have been celebrating the team’s win and what it means for visibility and representation in sport, praising the England team for being role models for young girls.
Model Ashley James wrote: ‘So proud of our Lionesses. It’s been so nice to see so much support for this team and it makes me excited about the future of female sport!’
Comedian Janey Godley was also sharing her thoughts about the ‘fantastic’ performance of the team throughout the match, retweeting a poignant tweet that read: ‘these incredible women are going to inspire a whole new generation of girls to play football and for it not to be seen as a “boys” game and it’s so powerful and so so beautiful to see’.
She later apologised for her barrage of tweets during the night, overcome with emotion on what the game meant.
‘Sorry about all the @Lionesses #football tweets, I was that wee street kid who played football and was told it’s wasn’t for “lassies” and this just warms my heart – so happy for them’, she penned.
