Just like The Tinder Swindler and Don’t F*** with Cats, Netflix has brought us another true-crime docuseries, and we can’t get enough of it.

The Most Hated Man on the Internet follows how the so-called king of revenge porn, Hunter Moore, and his notorious revenge porn website, IsAnyoneUp.com, were brought to justice by his victims, including underage women and ex-girlfriends.

Through the three-part docuseries, viewers see clips of Moore himself from old footage where he speaks about his website, as well as interviews with several of his victims, and the lady leading the fight against him: Charlotte Laws.

Starting from how his victims’ social media accounts were hacked, and their nude pictures uploaded onto Moore’s site, to how he refused to take those pictures down, and how his site was eventually brought down and bought out by an anti-bullying site, the docuseries follows the true story behind the fight.

Over a two-year battle, Laws finally brought Moore to justice, and doing so leant her the title ‘the Erin Brockovich of revenge porn.’

As shown in the documentary, which uses footage of Moore speaking about his victims, his site, and how he wants to make money from ‘f***ing people over’, Moore knew he had the power to violate people’s privacy, and to some extent, he almost thought he’d gotten away with it.

In his own words, he was a ‘professional life ruiner’.

The series ends by showing how IsAnyoneUp.com was permanently closed in 2012, after Moore sold its domain name to anti-bullying group Bullyville.com.

Users attempting to access the notorious website, which had encouraged jilted lovers to anonymously post intimate pictures of their exes online, were instead redirected to the Bullyville home page.

The site came to a close after it allegedly published a picture involving someone under-age, which was the final straw for Moore as his victims fought against him, with the mother of one of the women violated leading the fight with the FBI.

While The Most Hated Man on the Internet features plenty of real interviews from those involved, Moore himself is only seen from old footage, although he was originally meant to be a part of the series, before pulling out.

Producers revealed: ‘When we were developing it, he initially agreed to take part, but then decided not to.’

Producer Vikki Miller added: ‘When Hunter pulled out, I was initially disappointed but then I completely changed my mind and am so glad we ended up telling it through Charlotte Laws’ narrative.’

The Most Hated Man on the Internet is available to watch on Netflix.
