The Hills star Audrina Patridge has spilled the beans on why she is no longer friends with Lauren Conrad, branding the TV personality ‘controlling’.
The 37-year-old starred alongside LC in all six seasons of the MTV show, which was developed as a spin-off of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
The reality programme, which ran from 2006 to 2010, chronicled the professional and personal lives of a bunch of twenty-somethings living in California.
Following the friends’ busts ups and romance dramas, The Hills paved the way for other reality shows, such as Channel 4’s Made in Chelsea.
Audrina also joined the cast of The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, which premiered in 2019 before being axed after two seasons in January.
While Lauren, 36, was not part of the recent show, Audrina had some words to say about their time together in the mid 2000s.
In her new memoir, Choices: To the Hills and Back Again, Audrina revealed she had not stayed in touch with Lauren.

‘Unfortunately, one connection that didn’t last was my relationship with Lauren, who doesn’t really talk to anyone from the old cast,’ she wrote.
‘There are reasons that she and I aren’t friends anymore, and there was a lot of turmoil between us that we couldn’t talk about on-camera at the time.
‘It’s what led to me moving out of the pool house out back when I lived with her and Lo [Bosworth].’

Fans will remember the tension brewing between the trio, which led to Audrina leaving their home in season four.
Explaining the reasons behind the friendship break-up, Audrina said: ‘I also found her to be very controlling over her friends. If you’re in her circle, you have to do and say what Lauren does and says. Otherwise, you’re on the outs.
‘Heidi experienced the same thing. To an extent, I understand wanting to have control, especially in the reality TV world Lauren grew up in, when so much is controlled and decided for you.

‘But there are limits. I (usually) had to do what the producers said—but I sure didn’t have to obey Lauren.’
Audrina also admitted a shared management team, who she felt was giving more opportunities to Lauren, was a sore point.

‘Yes, I blamed my agents for this, but it still wasn’t great for my friendship with Lauren,’ she added.
Since The Hills ended, Lauren has dabbled in many business adventures, including a swimwear line and a podcast.
Meanwhile, Audrina has continued to appear on screen in shows such as Very Cavallari and Celebrity Family Feud.
