Doctor Who star Mark Gatiss hasn’t yet been asked back to the sci-fi drama for its 60th anniversary celebration.
It’s already been confirmed that the likes of David Tennant and Catherine Tate who played the 10th Time Lord and Donna Noble until 2010, will be returning to the beloved franchise for the special.
Mark previously served as a writer on the show and featured in a number of episodes, including the Christmas special in 2017.
Fans will remember how he played Professor Richard Lazarus in The Lazarus Experiment, as well as The Captain in Twice Upon A Time.
Over the course of his Doctor Who career, he starred alongside nine of the actors to have played the Doctor, and made a total of five guest appearances.
Speaking at the Attitude Pride Awards, Mark said that while he hasn’t been asked to join Doctor Who this time around, he would consider the invitation should it ever arise.

He told the PA news agency that it is ‘time for the young people’ to take on roles within the show, adding ‘like Russell’, referring to his former co-writer Russell T Davies, who is returning as showrunner.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa will be become the 14th Doctor after current Time Lord Jodie Whittaker confirmed last July she would be exiting the role.
Yasmin Finney, of Netflix’s Heartstopper, is also joining the cast to play a character called Rose.
