But one fashionista decided to take things into her own hands and instead of spending hours looking for the perfect dress, attempted to make her own one instead.
Megan Crampsey is a lover of painting, but recently turned her hand to a sewing machine, to create a gorgeous summer dress.
And to make her stunning dress, she used an Asda bedsheet – yes, you heard that correctly.

Rather than buying an expensive roll of material, Megan picked up a bedding set from her local Asda, costing her just £9.
With her skills and a sewing machine, Megan was able to completely transform the bedding set, into an oversized tiered maxi dress.
Megan took to TikTok to show off her DIY dress, with the caption ‘From an Asda duvet to a dress fit for a Spanish summer’s evening’.
At the start of the video, Megan shows off the Asda duvet set – a King size, easy care set, covered in tigers.

Megan explained that in order to create the dress, she used “the cecilia dress by patterncos on Etsy!”

Megan’s dress is a loose dress with a ruffled layering.
It has a flattering puff sleeve and is a very comfortable design for everyday use.
Megan confirmed that she used a sewing machine from HobbyCraft to create her dress, so she was thrilled when HobbyCraft commented on her video, hailing it “GENIUS”.
Megan’s DIY dress video has clearly impressed many, as it has racked up 137.1k views.
It has 19.5k likes, 224 comments and 408 shares.
Fashion fans were left stunned at Megan’s dress and very extremely impressed with her skills.
