Blaze breaks out at stately home from Bridgerton as eight fire engines rush to estate-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

A fire broke out at the stately home used for filming on Netflix series Bridgerton, with eight fire engines rushing to the scene to quell the blaze.
In the show, Wrotham Park Estate is used as the location for Aubrey Hall, the country home for the Bridgerton clan.
However, the Hertfordshire estate was at risk earlier this week when the single storey brick building used as stables was found alight, with 10 fire crews and eight fire engines attending to the scene to put out the flames.
The Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were no casualties and the fire was put out, with the service’s group commander, Keith Harland, saying: ‘Crews from both Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the London Fire Brigade worked very hard to successfully contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the main building, which was our main concern.
‘Thanks to the great teamwork of the many crews involved, the fire was extinguished and there were no casualties,’ he said in the statement obtained by HertsLive.
The fire service was called to the site in South Mimms at 3.34pm on Wednesday, remaining there for hours into the evening and early morning.

It’s been claimed that around 40 firefighters from Hertfordshire and London attended to the fire, while the main building, which is used to portray Aubrey Hall in Bridgerton, is believed to have not been damaged.
When the fire was still ongoing, a spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue said: ‘Eight fire engines are in attendance to a fire at an outbuilding at the Wrotham Park Estate. The outbuilding is still ablaze but is now under control,’ according to DailyMail.com.

Simon Tuhill, assistant chief fire officer, said: ‘We have currently got eight pumps and around 40 firefighters in attendance at a fire on the Wrotham Park Estate near Potters Bar. Colleagues from the London Fire Brigade are also supporting.’
It’s uncertain whether the fire will have impacted filming for season three of the series, which is currently in production and will follow the love story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), who also goes by the alias Lady Whistledown.
This isn’t the first time a fire has broken out at the Wrotham Park estate, which was first built in the mid-18th century.
In 1883, the house was destroyed by a fire, before being rebuilt to replicate exactly how it looked before.
