Cara Delevingne finally addresses viral Megan Thee Stallion antics at Billboard Music Awards: ‘People find me a bit odd’-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro
‘I was living my best life.’
Cara Delevingne has addressed her red carpet antics with Megan Thee Stallion after leaving fans baffled at the Billboard Music Awards.
The supermodel raised eyebrows at the bash in May, when she was spotted lurking behind the Sweetest Pie rapper in front of photographers, before playing with the train of her outfit.
She was later the pictured appearing to poke her head into a conversation between her pal and Doja Cat during the ceremony, and getting on the floor to take pictures of other stars.
Her behavior went viral at the time but the Only Murders In The Building actress had kept quiet on the response until now.
Appearing on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Cara insisted that there was nothing out of the ordinary about her behavior.
‘Basically I was working as her PA. I needed a side-job,’ she joked to the host.

‘I was in Vegas, we’re friends. I really wanted to see her play and she asked me to come along with her.
‘I didn’t know I was going to go and sit or do anything, I thought I was just going to come and watch her play. She had a speech she was going to do, because she was winning an award, so I was helping her run her lines.

‘I was walking around with a clipboard helping her [run] lines, memorize her speech.’
Cara explained that she was initially just stood behind Megan on the red carpet but stepped in to help the award-winner with her outfit in front of photographers.

‘I was helping her and I was doing it, and I was going like, “Yeah girl!” I was hyping her up, being her hype woman,’ she continued.
‘I walked in and I had a seat in the front row, and I’m like, “I’m not meant to be here”. I was getting on the floor, taking pictures. That’s what I do. I was just really excited…
‘I was living my best life, but people found it a bit odd. People find me a bit odd, but that’s me. No shame.’
Fair enough.
Cara is currently starring in Only Murders in the Building (Picture: Hulu)
Aside from headline-grabbing red carpet moments, the fashion icon has popped up in season two of Only Murders In The Building – as newcomer Alice, an art gallery owner who becomes Mabel’s (Selena Gomez) love interest.
And it turns out that Selena had a little something to do with her role.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, showrunner John Hoffman explained how that casting decision came to be, telling us: ‘We wanted to open up each of our trio’s world a little bit.
‘It’s a very New York story. If you’re splashed on the front page of a New York story, for good or bad reasons, you’re still becoming known, and that’s the balancing edge that they’re on the whole season.

‘For Mabel’s case [Selena] we touched on her desire to be an artist last year, that opening her world with a facilitator like Alice who feels aspirational to her, so that was the first beginning to Alice and how she would open up Mabel’s world.’
‘When we started thinking about casting, we thought “who was interested in the world of art, who is contemporary in the world of Selena’s?”‘ he added.
‘And then it was pretty quick to realise this is an old friendship they share, Cara and Selena, and we talked to Selena about it and she said “that would be a dream, I love her.”’
