I’m such a big Primark fan I did a 12-hour trip for a £300 haul & even had a suitcase – people call me sad but I love it

IF you thought you loved Primark more than anyone else, think again.

A Primark fan showed her ‘dedication’ to the chain by making a 12-hour round trip and taking a SUITCASE to fill up at the counter – as she’d not had a chance to go while living abroad for four years.

Suzanne Scott was visiting her family home in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland, last month when she opted to take the train all the way down to Birmingham to visit the world’s biggest Primark.

With her mum and aunt in tow, the 28-year-old set off to get her fix of the ‘fast fashion’ retailer as there are no stores over in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she’s been living.

Once there, the retail store manager set about filling up her mum’s suitcase with £290 worth of merchandise, including toiletries, underwear and clothing.

Footage shows Suzanne piling up her gains into a suitcase so she can haul home her loot, while a cashier scans through the rest of her purchases in the background.

“It was so lovely being back in Scotland after all this time – it was like I’d never left.

“I decided to do a day trip down to Birmingham to do a Primark shop. I joked ‘I better take a suitcase!’ and my mum ended up giving me hers.

“I knew it was going to be a big shop. I hadn’t been in four years, because they don’t have Primark in Canada.

“I wanted to do the day trip down to Birmingham from Scotland. It was a six-hour trip there and a six-hour trip back.

“We got the first train down in the morning and the first train back at night. We didn’t get home until 1am.

“We had to get the train from Falkirk to Edinburgh then down to Birmingham. It was a lot of dedication for a Primark shop.

“We went down to Birmingham because that’s where the biggest Primark is. I figured it was a case of go big or go home.

“Another reason why I bought the suitcase was because I knew carrying home a ton of bags wouldn’t be a good idea.

“I came to about £290 by the end of the shop, which isn’t too bad.

“I got quite a bit for that. I got quite a bit of toiletries, clothing and underwear.”

Suzanne admits to missing Primark whilst she’s across the pond and finds she doesn’t splurge as much whilst shopping in Canada.

Suzanne said: “I missed Primark a lot whilst I’m over in Canada. I’ve also lived in New Zealand and Australia, and between the three places there’s no Primark.

“It’s the big thing when I come home to go to Primark. Other countries don’t have anything like it – they don’t really do fast fashion, especially at such a cheap price.

“When I was packing it all away, I wasn’t even paying attention to anyone who was behind me. I was just like ‘Scan… put it in… scan… put in…’

“I was all business. I was saying ‘I’m a cashier, it’s fine’. It was my day to enjoy.”

Suzanne’s video, which has racked up nearly five million views, has been met with a mixed response since it was uploaded to TikTok.

Suzanne added: “I picked up over four million views on the video, it’s crazy.

“Going off the comments, I think it picked up that many because they were saying bringing a suitcase was genius.

“People were saying they were going to bring a suitcase next time they went to Primark.

“But there were also negative comments on there from people saying ‘Oh, she’s not sustainable’ or ‘She’s wasting money’.

“I would say, I don’t do big shops that often. When I’m in Canada, I’ll be buying the bare minimum.

“It’s not like I’m going out spending loads of money all the time. I’m sure plenty of people spend more a week on Shein.”

Commenters were left divided over Suzanne’s decision to bring a suitcase along for her day-out in Birmingham.

One wrote: “This is so sad”, whilst another remarked: “It’s understandable to buy a few fast fashion pieces every now and then but massive hauls like this are so unnecessary.”

However, many viewers came to Suzanne’s defence.

One commented: “It’s her money, why you all mad?”, as another admitted: “I’m just disappointed I never thought of this.”

Another supportive commenter wrote: “What’s with all the Judge Judys in the comments? Do we not have free will anymore?! Jesus Christ, hope you had a fun shopping trip!!”
