The final of Love Island 2022 and that £50,000 prize is just days away but, sadly, one couple won’t make it, with another dumping on the horizon.

In a shocking twist, Islanders were forced to nominate the two couples they think are the least compatible and submit their votes via text, with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti coming in with the most votes.

The Turkish actress and Itallian stallion received four votes from their fellow couples, while Gemma Owen and Luca Bish also at risk of dumping after receiving three votes.

Meanwhile, Paige Thorne and Adam Collard got two votes, and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Plage got one.

The only pairing who didn’t receive any votes were Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, meaning their place in the Majorcan villa is safe.

Now, it’s up to the public to decide who survives another night, and which couple will be packing their suitcases, despite the final being within touching distance.

While the Islanders assured each other their decision making wasn’t ‘personal’, there were definitely some scathing comments made as they deliberated.

‘Remember, not Friend Island,’ Ekin-Su told Davide, before pondering the idea of bombshell and notorious player Adam ‘going back to his old ways’ and leaving Welsh paramedic Paige heartbroken on the outside.

Meanwhile, plenty of couples questioned whether Ekin-Su and Davide would work once the show ends, saying they think the gym fiend isn’t as into Ekin as she is with him, believing he still has ‘trust issues’ despite giving her a second chance.

However, the couples themselves do not yet know how the votes stack up, and viewers will have to wait in suspense until Sunday to find out who is leaving.

The Love Island final airs on Monday, August 1, meaning the departing couple really will have fallen right at the final hurdle.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
