Davide Sanclimenti’s family are finally rooting for Ekin-De after admitting they thought Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was a ‘game player.’

The couple’s turbulent journey so far has been turbulent, to say the least, but their enemies to lovers arc has had fans begging for a spin-off dedicated to the Turkish actress and the Italian stallion.

After Ekin-Su’s sneaky kiss with bombshell Jay Younger resulted in an explosive showdown between the pair, Ekin-Su and Davide have been working hard to rekindle the magic, and it’s paid off as Davide said ‘I love you’ during their final date.

Although Davide’s family are convinced the pair are a match made in heaven, his sister Valeria revealed they all had their doubts over their budding romance.

‘At the beginning Ekin-Su wanted to play games a bit,’ she said.

‘We didn’t like it, now we are happy she understood that she has made a mistake [kissing Jay] and she has even admitted it,’ she added to The Sun.

Ekin-Su and Davide are the hot favourites to be this year’s winning couple on Love Island as anticipation builds ahead of Monday’s final.

The pair have thrilled viewers with their whirlwind romance, which has strengthened significantly after sharing their love for each other on Thursday night’s romantic date.

According to bookmakers Betfair, they are now at 1/8 odds and only a huge upset will prevent them walking away with the £50,000 cash prize on Monday.

Their closest rivals in the betting are Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri at 9/1, who have also charmed fans over the course of the season and were the first to officially become boyfriend and girlfriend.

However, in Friday’s shocking twist Ekin-Su and Davide were voted the least compatible couple by their fellow islanders.

The only pairing who didn’t receive any votes were Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, meaning their place in the Majorcan villa is safe.

Now, it’s up to the public to decide who survives another night, and which couple will be packing their suitcases, despite the final being within touching distance.

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
