Michael Owen is ‘really proud’ of his eldest daughter Gemma Owen’s stint on Love Island, according to her mum Louise, who is set to enter the villa tonight.

In the highly-anticipated Meet the Parents episode, airing just one night before the finale, Louise Bonsall has landed in Majorca ready to meet Luca Bish, along with the likes of Dami Hope’s and Indiyah Polack’s families too.

Catching up with her 19-year-old daughter, spoilers for tonight show Louise telling Gemma of her dad Michael: ‘Honestly, he is really proud of you, really proud.’

She adds, of the family including Gemma’s younger siblings, ‘They are all loving watching you, they’re missing you like mad.’

Michael previously confirmed he wouldn’t be entering the villa, saying to Sky Sports At The Races after watching his horse Box To Box run:  ‘My wife will do that duty. I’ll represent the horses and she’ll represent the daughter.’

He went on: ‘I don’t know what I’ll get from Box To Box. But I know what I’m going to get from my daughter.

‘I’ve fathered her for 19 years so I’m pretty sure what I’m going to get from her,’ he joked.

Meanwhile, Luca’s family can’t help but gush over Gemma, as Luca’s dad, also called Michael, wears his own fish flops like those of his fishmonger son, and says: ‘She puts you straight doesn’t she.’

Mum Maria adds: ‘First night I said they fancy each other, I knew it. I love the values and morals she has.’

Some mums aren’t so convinced by their islander-children’s partners, as Paige Thorne, who has been coupled up with returning bombshell Adam Collard since Jacques O’Neill’s exit, asks her mum and dad: ‘So what are you thinking of Adam?’ to which her mum is simply speechless, clearly unsure of what to say.

‘Ummmm’ she lets out after a few very awkward seconds, before Paige is heard in the Beach Hut saying: ‘My mum and her savage comments, I knew she would be… I was just like “Oh for God’s sake!”‘

Meanwhile, Adam’s family are much more positive over ‘Adam 2.0’, with his friend saying: ‘You do come across much more mature this time, a lot more settled and confident with Paige and everything. You’s are really well suited, like.’

Can Adam win over Paige’s mum?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
