Angelina Jolie has confirmed that daughter Zahara will be attending Spelman college later this year, proudly sharing the news in a rare Instagram update.

The Eternals actress shares the 17-year-old with ex-husband Brad Pitt, and couldn’t help but rave about her achievement.

Taking to her social media platform, the 47-year-old posted a sweet snap of the budding university student surrounded by her ‘Spelman sisters’.

‘Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year,’ she wrote beside the upload.

‘A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl. #spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU.’

Fans couldn’t get enough of the picture and rushed to offer their own congratulatory message for the family.

‘Aww, you must be one proud momma! Congratulations,’ a follower penned.

Another agreed: ‘New adventures and a lifetime of memories. Have fun, Spelman Ladies!’

‘Congratulations and many happy blessed years ahead of you,’ one replied.

‘Ahhhh! Your beautiful little one is so grown up! Wishing her a fabulous college experience,’ an Instagram user posted.

As a fan said: ‘How is she old enough to be in college?? Time really does fly!!’

Zahara is the third eldest of the six children Angelina shares with former partner Brad – the pair are also parents to Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14.

Pax graduated from school last summer and Maddox studied at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea – but his classes moved online due to the global pandemic, bringing him back to the US.

Zahara recently made headlines when she joined her famous mom on an important getaway to Washington DC, as they met with lawmakers in support of the Violence Against Women act, to advocate for changes in law.

Ange shared a glimpse at their trip on social media last December, telling fans at the time: ‘Honored to visit Washington, DC, with Zahara, working with advocates and lawmakers to modernize and strengthen the #ViolenceAgainstWomenAct to include protections for children’s health and safety, communities of color, tribes, LGBTQ survivors, rural areas, and all survivors.

‘We need reforms including judicial training, trauma-informed court processes that minimize the risk of harm to children, grant programs for technology to detect bruising across all skin tones and create non-biased forensic evidence collection, and protections for the most vulnerable.’
