Shania Twain has shown her support for the England’s women’s team and their victory over Germany during Sunday’s Women’s Euro 2022 final as only she can.
Following the national side’s storm to success and the first major footballing trophy since 1966 – and first ever European Championships title – many were in a jubilant mood.
This includes Canadian music icon Shania, who took to Twitter to congratulate the Lionesses.
The country crossover act, 56, had evidently been keeping up with the footie while she promoted the release of her new documentary on Netflix, Not Just A Girl.
Sharing pictures of the record-breaking attendance of 87,192 at Wembley as well as the athletes leaping on each other in celebration.
‘You know these women will have had to fight for respect from the first moment they picked up the ball,’ she commented, before adding the triumphant cry: ‘Lets f**king go girls!’

That is, of course, a riff on Shania’s opening lyrics to her colossal 1999 hit, Man! I Feel Like a Woman!
Others delighting in the Lioness’ victory included former pro Alex Scott, who became emotional when reflecting on the historic result during BBC Breakfast on Monday as she discussed how hearing the reaction had her choked up.
Raucous congratulations were also supplied on Sunday by the likes of Adele, Piers Morgan and Phillip Schofield, alongside the Spice Girls and Katrina of Katrina an the Waves.
