Trisha Goddard has shared that she was ‘rushed to hospital’ for an emergency operation during ‘two of the toughest weeks’ after she fell and broke her leg.
The TV host told fans she was ‘still alive… just’ as she took to social media to reveal what had happened.
She posted a clip of herself smiling slightly as she lay in a hospital bed in a gown and panned the camera to show her admission bracelets and the medical care she was hooked up to.
Trisha wrote alongside the video on Saturday: ‘I’ve just had 2 of the toughest weeks…. One where I was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation, literally roaring in pain.
‘But I’m still alive… just.’
The star even managed to undertake her presenting duties over the weekend too.

‘Oh, and filmed a piece for @60minutes9 midweek too!’
‘On tomorrow’s show I’ll share what happened because I’m not out of the woods yet…’ Trisha continued, adding: ‘How @alexa99 saved my life…’
Her agent Jonathan Shalit applauded Trisha’s quick return to work on Twitter, writing: ‘After week in hospital nothing stops Trisha Goddard broadcasting live 1pm today Talk Radio @TalkTV

On Sunday’s show, Trisha gave further insight into what had happened with her ‘unexpected accident’, saying ‘she tripped, fell, flew up in the air and smashed down’ on the steps inside her home, while she was alone and without her phone.
‘I was careering down face forward to the bottom of the slate stairs,’ she recalled.
Ending up wedged precariously on the stairs, she added: ‘I knew that if I let go of that banister, I would break my neck, I would go down to the end of the staircase.’
With the help of her Alexa device – which she called ‘my divine intervention’ – the 64-year-old explained how on the third attempt of calling her fiancé, whose identity she keeps private, he had been able to alert neighbours and then the emergency services.
Trisha detailed that her emergency procedure had involved her having a partial hip replacement, which she followed up with rehab appointments to help her learn to walk again.

After recounting her harrowing ordeal, she said: ‘The thing that kept going trough my mind was Ivana Trump, I knew if I let go of that banister I would be dead,’ referring to the recent death of Donald Trump’s ex-wife from blunt force injuries after falling down the stairs at her house.
