Big Brother icon Marcus Bentley is just playing with our emotions after teasing his return to the new series.
It was announced this week that the much-loved and well-missed reality programme will be storming back to screens in 2023 after finding a new home with ITV2.
Viewers will get to tune into the new batch of housemates every night for six weeks, although a specific air date is yet to be revealed.
Fans are now hoping to see old faces return, including former hosts Rylan Clark, Davina McCall, Brian McDowden and Emma Willis.
However, another Big Brother star has hinted he might be coming back to the fold, with Marcus – who provided the voiceover for every series since the show began in 2000 – giving fans hope.
He tweeted a pretty epic throwback photo of his Big Brother pass with his mugshot, ‘narrator’ and his name on it (although interestingly, his first name was misspelt as ‘Markus’).
‘Might need a new pass – #BBUK,’ he quipped alongside it.
In 2020, Marcus admitted he would love to return to the long-running series, which aired on Channel 4 for 10 years before moving onto Channel 5 where it remained until 2018.
‘I’d love to [go back],’ he told Metro.co.uk. ‘I’d love to, because it’s in my blood. I mean, throughout the Channel 4/Channel 5 years I had a very similar set of producers, some of the producers worked right the way through it.

‘Everybody was so lovely and of course, there’s always been a buzz about it and it sort of fills my year up.’
Marcus continued: ‘I miss it dreadfully but I would love to. I’m waiting for one day for that phone to ring to tell me “Marcus, would you do it? For real?” Put that contract right in front of me!’
Announcing its comeback, an ITV2 press release stated: The action will all play out under the roof of the iconic Big Brother house, which will be given its own contemporary new look ready for this reimagining of the show.
‘Clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions will be back, with the public once again playing a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner, who will walk away with a life changing cash prize.’
