Amazon seems to have its hands in just about everything.

We can do our grocery shopping via Amazon Fresh, get electronics, household items and essentials delivered to our doors at speed, and then turn on the TV to watch Amazon Prime Video.

Did you know gamers can also benefit from Amazon Prime, via Prime Gaming? What exactly does it offer?

Here’s all you need to know.

What is Prime Gaming?

Prime Gaming is basically a service full of perks for gamers – run by Amazon Prime

Every month, it provides you with extra content – basically time-sensitive packs, bundles and extras – to use in-game on titles such as League of Legends, Pokemon Go and Valorant.

At the time of writing, extra content is available for Fall Guys, Overwatch, FIFA 22, Roblox, Runescape, Apex Legends, Grand Theft Auto Online, World of Warcraft, Red Dead Online, and Call of Duty.

Prime Gaming also provides you with access to several free PC games each month.

It also allows you to sign up, for free, to one Amazon-affiliated Twitch channel per month, and store streams for 60 days (not just 14).

Not too shabby, eh?

Is Prime Gaming free with an Amazon Prime subscription?

Yes. You get Prime Gaming free as part of your Amazon Prime UK subscription.

So if you’re already subscribed, whether for the next-day delivery benefits on Amazon shopping, or to watch TV and film on Prime Video, then you already have access to these perks.

Go to gaming.amazon.com to have a browse at what’s available right now.

If you’ve yet to subscribe, Amazon Prime costs £7.99 per month – for which you also get music streaming, unlimited ebooks on Prime Reading and unlimited photo storage.

However, the fee is about to go up to £8.99 a month in September 2022.

That said, free trials are often available, and they often last 30 days. Even if you’ve had a free trial of Prime before, you may be offered another one via your Amazon account.

Just visit the Amazon Prime website to get started.

If you’re a student, you can try a six-month free trial and then afterwards enjoy a half-price membership.
