Kanye West has blasted Adidas, claiming that the brand did not have his approval for this year’s Yeezy Day.
In an Instagram message to multiple outlets, the 45-year-old rapper claimed that Yeezy Day, first launched in 2019, was created by Adidas without his permission.
He said: ‘Adidas made up the Yeezy Day idea without my approval and then went and brought back older styles without my approval.
The Gold Digger rapper went on to say: ‘Picked colors and named them without my approval and hired people that worked for me without my approval stole my colorways without my approval stole my styles and material approaches without my approval took talent on the production side and sprinkled them through Adidas Originals without my approval.’
‘Even though they did a Balenciaga collaboration they completely slowed down production on the shoes me and Demma developed for the Gap by trying to bully Gap even though my contract states I can do casual shoes which I was doing when I did fashion shows.’
He also claimed that he ‘ordered’ Adidas to make more of his Yeezy Slides, but the general manager, ‘lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity,’ though they instead were, ‘copying my slides and making their own version of the Yeezy Slides’.

West first announced his collaboration with Adidas in December 2013, but lately he’s been criticising the company for putting out products under their Yeezy line without his permission or approval.
In June, when the company released their Adidas Adilette, the rapper called them ‘fake Yeezys’.
Yeezy Day first took place in 2019 and since then, the brand has saved some of its most anticipated Yeezy drops for the event.
It is a chance for fans of the brand to grab some of the most popular releases, new designs, restocked products, and exclusives.
