Latest Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 leak comes from NFL players-Michael Beckwith-Entertainment – Metro
An American football team may be a bit too excited about playing the new Call Of Duty, as its players have shared more than they should.
We doubt Activision is too thrilled with this (pic: Activision)
An American football team may be a bit too excited about playing the new Call Of Duty, as its players have shared more than they should.
We’ve lost track of how many times Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 details have been leaked. However, the latest one is different because, rather than an industry insider or dataminer, it comes from American football players.
Earlier today, one Cameron Dicker, an NFL player for the L.A. Rams, shared an image of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer lobby on Instagram.
Dicker has since deleted the picture, but obviously everyone else has saved it for posterity and shared it elsewhere.
The picture alone doesn’t necessarily confirm anything fans didn’t already know, but it’s still information Activision probably doesn’t want people to know about yet.
What’s worse is that Dicker wasn’t the only one to post stuff he shouldn’t have to Instagram. At least two of his fellow players made the same blunder.
Although it’s incredibly blurry, you can still easily make out the word DMZ on the screen in this second leak.
Past leaks have mentioned a new DMZ mode being included with the game, but Activision has yet to share official details about it. This only legitimises those past leaks and the mode’s existence.
A short video shared by a third player gives you a very brief glimpse at its gameplay, although all you see is the player reloading their gun.
Activision partnering with sports players to promote the game isn’t a new thing, but we imagine it gave these players strict instructions about how much they could share.

Something more official and substantial about Modern Warfare 2 will be shown this week as part of the Call Of Duty League Championship Weekend.
On Sunday, August 7 at 8pm BST, developer Infinity Ward will have new information to share about the game, although it’s not clear whether this will include new footage.
This could be where it will talk about the DMZ mode and/or share dates for the multiplayer beta, which has been rumoured to take place in September.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 28.
