Simon McCoy hasn’t held back his opinion of Rebekah Vardy after she lost her legal battle against Coleen Rooney in the so-called Wagatha Christie trial.

The former BBC broadcaster appeared on Wednesday’s This Morning where he discussed the wag’s highly anticipated first television interview, which is set to air on TalkTV tonight.

In a preview ahead of the bombshell chat, Rebekah bursts into tears while stressing once again that she ‘did not do it’.

And Simon has absolutely no sympathy whatsoever.

Letting rip, he slammed Rebekah by claiming that she only sought legal action because of ‘supreme arrogance’ and that she showed ‘zero’ grace and dignity in the aftermath.

‘Why are we still talking about this,’ he said. ‘Why is she given the airtime or the stakes? I’m sorry, I have no sympathy with her whatsoever.’

He then claimed: ‘She was told not to do it, advised not to do it, her own lawyers said don’t do it, she did it, for whatever reason, supreme arrogance, seems to be an obvious one, and is now whinging that she lost and saying “the legal system let me down”.

‘No, it didn’t, it found you out.’

Simon stressed that he won’t be watching Rebekah’s interview this evening.

‘It’s interesting that it’s TalkTV, The Sun’s TV channel and it’s The Sun that got her into this mess in the first place in many ways.

‘We know she needs money.’

And if Simon’s feelings towards Rebekah weren’t already apparent, he then doubled down.

‘Coleen Rooney has come out of this with some grace and dignity and Rebekah has zero of either,’ he added.

Ouch.

Rebekah, who’s married to England footballer Jamie Vardy, has denied claims she  leaked false stories about Coleen to the press, after she was originally accused of doing so in October 2019.

Coleen first claimed that Rebekah had leaked stories about her after conducting a ‘sting operation’ for several months, before making her accusation in a lengthy statement published on social media.

Rebekah vehemently denied the claims, proceeding to sue Coleen – who’s married to retired professional footballer Wayne Rooney – for libel.

When Justice Steyn delivered her ruling, she said that it was ‘likely’ that Rebekah’s agent at the time, Caroline Watt, ‘undertook the direct act’ of passing the information to The Sun.

The judge continued: ‘Nonetheless, the evidence … clearly shows, in my view, that Mrs Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Mrs Rooney’s posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt.’

She added: ‘In my judgment, the conclusions that I have reached as to the extent to which the claimant engaged in disclosing to The Sun information to which she only had access as a permitted follower of an Instagram account which she knew, and Mrs Rooney repeatedly asserted, was private, suffice to show the single meaning is substantially true.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
