Love Island’s Jacques O’Neill documented his first trip to Pret A Manger online after he was convinced it was a ‘pretzel shop.’

An honest mistake to make if you focus on the first four letters.

The rugby ace, 23 paid a visit to the coffee and sandwich chain following his appearance on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, and it’s safe to say he discovered something new about the popular lunch spot.

Uploading the ahem, experience, on his Instagram Stories, he said: ‘So first time being at Pret.

‘It was very different to what I thought, I thought they just sell pretzels so my bad.’

Poking fun at the situation, Jacques stressed that he wasn’t ‘the brightest of the bunch.’

The sportsman removed himself from the ITV2 series, telling his fellow islanders and former love interest Paige Thorne at the time that he needed to ‘get back to himself’ in emotional scenes.

Before deciding to leave the show, Jacques came close to having a bust-up with returning bombshell Adam Collard, who ended up winning his ex’s affections but narrowly missed a place in the final four.

Following his exit, Jacques said that appearing on the show was the ‘worst decision of my life’, and now he’s expressed that he wanted to go into hiding and to delete his social media entirely.

Things could get a little awkward between Paige and Jacques during this Sunday’s reunion special, as former islander Antigoni Buxton revealed the pair haven’t spoken.

At the show’s wrap party, she shared: ‘I saw Paige last night, and they’ve not spoken, no.’

’I am really happy for Paige though and I do want the best for her. She’s amazing and she was one of my really good friends in there so whatever makes her happy is good for me.’

Love Island is available to stream on ITVHub.
