The rumours are true! Loose Women star Kaye Adams is the latest celebrity who will compete for the glitterball trophy in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The 59-year-old announced live on air during the ITV panel show that she would be dusting off her dancing shoes and showing off her moves in the iconic ballroom.
However, the big reveal didn’t happen without a lot of teasing beforehand.
Viewers were on tenterhooks when they teased the announcement would happen, before dashing all hopes and cutting away to a competition.
After cutting to a group of professional dancers twirling away to the Strictly theme song, it looked like it was about to get serious.
Reading off a list of Loose Women, including Stacey Solomon and Nadia Sawalha, Kaye kept the audience guessing about who would be strutting their stuff on the dancefloor.
It was then revealed Carol McGiffin would be joining the BBC show, only for it all to be a big joke.
Eventually, after going through the line-up of potential contestants, Kaye jumped up in glee and revealed it would be her.
Hugging her screaming panellists, the former Sunday Scoop host said she was excited to start the intense training.
She said turning 60 later this year had given her a ‘why not’ attitude, making her decide to accept the offer from Strictly bosses.
‘I can’t make much more of a fool of myself than I already do,’ Kaye quipped.
The Scot is the fourth contestant who will battle it out on the dancefloor in a bid to impress judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
Also brushing up their quickstep skills are Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star Will Mellor, who was revealed to be the first contestant to be taking to the ballroom floor.
The former Hollyoaks actor revealed the heartwrenching motivation for signing up to the flagship BBC programme as wanting ‘to make new memories for mum after dad’s death.’

He added: ‘It’s my mum’s favourite show so she’s had it really tough over the last few years so I thought we’ll do this…’
Coronation Street actor Kym Marsh, 46, will also be sashaying and salsa-ing back on our screens.
The Hear’Say singer has always harboured dreams of joining the Strictly line-up but revealed ‘the timings never worked out.’

The final officially announced dancing hopeful so far is Radio 2 favourite Richie Anderson.
The TV and radio personality said: ‘This is a dream come true! I cannot wait to get in those sparkles and sequins and shimmy across the most famous dance floor in the world!
‘Strictly is the ultimate feel-good show, as soon as I hear that iconic theme tune it’s just pure escapism.’

Meanwhile, Kaye is best known for being an anchor for Loose Women and has been picking a part daily news stories on the panel since 1999.
However, the Scot did leave the show for several years to join The Wright Stuff from 2007 to 2012.
She also hosts the breakfast show on BBC Radio Scotland during the week.
Strictly returns to BBC One in September.
