Bray Wyatt has penned a perfect love letter to the art of professional wrestling amid rumours of a sensational WWE return.
The former world champion – whose real name is Windham Rotunda – posted a powerful message to his Twitter follows this weekend as he put into words the passion fans have for this extraordinary world.
The note was littered with reference to the likes of The Undertaker, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring of Honor, Kane and even Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
He wrote: ‘Wrestling is not a love story, it’s a Fairy Tale for masochists. A comedy for people who criticize punchlines. A fantasy most can’t understand, a spectacle no one can deny. Lines are blurred. Heroes are villains. Budgets are cut. Business is business.
‘But it can also be a land where Dead men walk. Where Honor makes you Elite. Where Demons run for office. And Rock bottom is a reason to rejoice.
‘WOOOOO! It’s an escape. A reason to point the blame at anyone but yourself for 2-3 hours. An excuse to be a kid again, and nothing matters except the moment are in.
‘Wrestling is not a love story, it’s much more. It’s hope.
‘And in a world surrounded in hate, greed and violence, a world where closure may never come. We all know a place that has hot and cold hope on tap. For better or for worse. (sic)’
The message has sparked praise from fans, with some taking it as a sign Wyatt isn’t done with wrestling following his WWE release just over a year ago, despite his recent work in Hollywood on his first feature film.
There have been plenty of rumours of a return for The Fiend, and current Raw superstar Seth Freakin’ Rollins recently admitted he expects to stand across the ring from him again in the future.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, he said: ‘I mean, I hope that’s not the last time him and I have been in a ring together, I truly do – and I don’t think it will be.
‘It really depends on a lot of external factors. At the end of the day, I would love to get back in there with him and create magic once again.’
