It looks like the ‘cursed’ yellow beanbag has made its way to the Owen household after Michael Owen shared a cute reunion snap of his daughter Gemma.
The international dressage rider returned to her family home in Cheshire this week, following her eight-week stint on Love Island.
Gemma, 19, and fishmonger Luca Bish, 23, missed out on the top spot after Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculoglu took home the crown, and since her return Gemma promised to keep fans updated with her journey.
While Luca is currently enjoying some down time in Brighton with his family, Gemma’s family threw a lavish Love Island party for her at home, complete with blue and white balloons and the infamous yellow beanbag.
Sharing a snap of him and his daughter chilling in the garden, Michael wrote: ‘Welcome home @gemowen_1 it’s good to have you back,’ he wrote.
While fans were living for the reunion, others couldn’t help but wonder whether the football ace was aware of the history behind the cursed outdoor cushion.’
‘Ohh no the yellow beanbag’ one fan wrote.
‘The yellow beanbag is back,’ another added.
What’s the deal with the beanbag, you say? To give you some context, Love Island 2022 has provided its fair share of dramatic twists and turns from Davide branding Ekin Su a ‘liar and actress’ to Andrew Le Page ‘sucking Coco Lodge’s t**s, or whatever.’
And the reason behind the chaos has been the yellow beanbag.

During an episode of Love Island Unseen Bits, viewers were treated to the islanders explaining that any time someone sat on that particular seat, they were guaranteed to get into drama.
Fans will be able to see what life has been like for the islanders since they returned to UK soil, as the reunion airs tonight.
Hosted by Laura Whitmore, the special episode will feature most of the Islanders from series eight – although it’s been reported that Jacques O’Neill and Afia Tonkmor did not take part despite being invited.

And fans can look forward to plenty of drama as it has been reported Coco Lodge and Summer Botwe got into a ‘very heated exchange’ during filming.
A fan has claimed that production had to ‘step in’ during a fiery row between Summer and Coco, which many are convinced is all to do with Josh Le Grove.
Love Island’s reunion episode airs at 9pm on Sunday on ITV2.
