Ashton Kutcher has reassured fans he has ‘fully recovered’ after being left unable to ‘see, hear or walk’ due to a rare autoimmune disorder.
The actor, 44, opened up this week about his experience with a rare form of vasculitis which left him ‘lucky to be alive’.
Speaking in a clip from an upcoming episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls shared by Access Hollywood, the dad-of-two revealed: ‘Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium’.
He added: ‘It took me like a year to build it all back up again. You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone, until you go, “I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again; I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again; I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again”.’
According to the NHS, vasculitis involves the inflammation of the blood vessels, with the immune system attacking healthy blood vessels and causing them to become swollen and narrow.
After the clip was shared, Ashton took to Twitter to reassure fans that he was fully recovered after the terrifying incident.

‘I had some impairments hear, vision, balance issues right after. I fully recovered. All good. Moving on. See you at the 2022 NY Marathon w/Thorn.’
Ashton had revealed in the preview clip that it took him around a year to build his strength back up.
