Gord Lewis, founding guitarist of Teenage Head, has been found dead.
The Canadian musician’s body was supposedly found in his Hamilton, Ontario apartment over the weekend, with his son reportedly later arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
According to the Hamilton Spectator, Lewis’ death is being treated as a homicide, with officers confirming the news.
Hamilton homicide detective Sara Beck said on August 8: ‘On Sunday (August 7), police received information, a number of emails had been sent to a variety of media outlets with information related to a deceased person.
‘Based on the information, police attended a residence at 175 Catherine Street South and located a deceased male in his 60s in the apartment. The male had injuries consistent with foul play, and the case was deemed a homicide.’
Beck continued: ‘At this time, a positive identification has not been made of the deceased due to the level of decomposition’.

She explained that an autopsy will be performed and ‘additional steps’ will be taken to ‘identify the deceased.’
Police are also thought to be in contact with the family members ‘related to the occupant of the apartment’, who are thought to be supporting officers in their investigation.
Beck also shared that 41-year-old Jonathan Lewis – Lewis’ son – is currently in custody.
‘We are not seeking additional suspects, and believe this incident was isolated.’
Lewis was part of the punk rock band which formed in the early 1980s.
