Microsoft is looking to boost its Xbox cloud gaming library by allowing you to stream non-Game Pass games via the cloud.

In the run up to its not-E3 2022 showcase, Microsoft laid out its future plans for the Xbox brand, such as a dedicated Xbox app for Samsung TVs, demos for Xbox Game Pass, and expanding its cloud gaming service.

At the moment, you can only stream games that are part of Game Pass, but Microsoft promised to make it possible for subscribers to stream select games they already own or have purchased outside of the Game Pass library.

Microsoft said this would be implemented this year, and it looks like it’s set to drop relatively soon as a few games’ listings on the Xbox store were secretly updated with the cloud gaming logo.

The games in question are Grand Theft Auto 5, Elden Ring, and Soul Hackers 2, the last of which isn’t out until later this month.

We’ve checked their respective store pages, but the cloud gaming logo has since been removed, so Microsoft must’ve become aware of its mistake and removed them. The games are also absent from the cloud gaming library.

Screenshots of the listings, however, were saved for posterity’s sake on Twitter and Reddit, where you can clearly see the Xbox Game Pass logo.

Seems like #Xbox is ramping up their plans to bring Games that are not a part of #XboxGamePass to Xcloud.

Like GTA V, Soul Hackers 2 and Elden Ring.

Could be a Gamescom Announcement.

It’s entirely possible that the plan is to just add these three games to Game Pass or that the inclusion of the logos was merely a mistake on Microsoft’s part.

However, it’s been pointed out that Vineet Rastogi, senior product manager at Xbox Cloud Gaming, will be attending Gamescom later this month.

So, another theory is that Microsoft will formally announce plans to expand cloud gaming’s offerings during Gamescom, likely at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 23.

Even if that doesn’t happen, the plan is still to add non-Game Pass games to the cloud gaming service this year, so it’s going to happen sooner or later.

Excited to be attending Gamescom this year as my first conference ever, and as a part of team Xbox! https://t.co/dyik5Ofrsx
