WWE boss Triple H has hyped up the Next In Line recruitment programme and its potential to unearth global megastars.
The company’s head of talent relations has been a big part of the NIL deals being offered to train collegiate athletes at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson among those involved.
Speaking to YouTuber and new WWE signing Logan Paul on his Impaulsive podcast, The Game even suggested the programme could help the wrestling juggernaut find the next Conor McGregor.
He said: ‘We can have the attempt, at least, to create the [next] Conor McGregor and we do. You’re right, we have generationally – right from Bruno Sammartino all the way through to Roman Reigns right now and everything in between.
‘You can even throw Brock Lesnar into that list because where did he learn to do the personality, the charisma, all of those other things that he had right. Athletically, yes, but the rest of it [is from] us.’
Triple H – whose real name is Paul Levesque – pointed to the promotional skills WWE was able to teach Lesnar, and how they can help people grow into what they need while other sports might have to wait for lightning to strike.

He added: ‘His level of promotion and all of that stuff was next level when he went to UFC and that’s what he jumped off on. Yeah, but what boxing and all of those sports do is they’re just waiting for the next generational talent.
‘They’re waiting for somebody to come along that captivates you and we’re different. We can control that environment and we can control that narrative long term.’
The former world champion recently took over from John Laurinaitis as head of talent relations, as well as assuming Vince McMahon’s creative responsibilities following the businessman’s retirement last month.
And despite the obvious pride and focus on the NIL programme, the company is also looking to other areas for their recruitment.
In the past couple of weeks, Triple H has rehired Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross and Dexter Lumis – who were all released under McMahon’s regime – and there are reports suggesting more are on the way.
