Vicky Pattison couldn’t be happier thanks to all the exciting things going on in her life right now – from buying a house to getting engaged – however, starting a family is on the back burner for a while.
The former Geordie Shore star has been extremely open about her journey with freezing her eggs, as she and fiancé Ercan Ramadan map out their future after several years together.
However, there was a lot Vicky didn’t know as she started the process, hence why she’s made her own ups and downs public – to educate and reassure others going through the same thing.
She was initially stunned by the hefty price tag that comes with freezing your eggs, lambasting the £10k fee as a ‘basic human right’.
But, she didn’t want to push her longtime partner into having children prematurely, which could’ve led to resentment later down the line, so they’re taking things one step at a time.
Speaking with Metro.co.uk, Vicky revealed that, while she’s ‘desperate’ to become a mother ‘at some point’, she’s trying to take a slower pace and not give in to societal pressures.

‘I thought you just fell in love with someone, you got married, and had babies. That’s what my mam did, but actually my life has been really different’, she began.
‘I’ve found myself mid 30s, I desperately want to be a mother at some point, but still don’t feel totally ready. I know my relationship is probably not ready to have kids yet.
‘I think we need more people talking about the alternatives to just falling in love in their 20s than having that happy ever after. It’s not the case for so many people.’

On why she uses her platform to share her own experiences, Vicky, 34, added: ‘If you are wanting to have kids in your 30s, 40s, or in later life, there are some difficulties for a lot of people, so I like to be honest because not enough people are. There’s so much hardship to conceiving naturally after 30 that I wasn’t aware of, so I’m gonna continue to talk about my journey.’
In fact, the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star is taking a laid back approach to every aspect of her life, proceeding to reflect on no longer caring what people think of her.
‘I think as you get older, you care less what people think of you. That’s a natural progression. And I think worrying so much about what everyone thinks and comparing yourself to others is absolutely the thief of joy’, she shared.

In her recent Channel 4 documentary – My Dad, Alcohol and Me – Vicky said she now feels ‘happier than ever’, a feeling she also credits to ‘giving less of a s**t’.
‘I’ve had loads of therapy. I’ve got a great life coach. I worked on myself and removed myself from toxic situations and toxic people, and circumstances that just don’t serve me.
‘I’ve also met a really lovely man who brings me loads of confidence and security. He’s very kind. He’s all the things that I needed but didn’t allow myself to think that I deserved when I was younger’, she gushed.

‘I’m definitely in the happiest place and I think that’s because I’m prioritising self-care and my health and my own worth. Which I don’t think we do so much in our 20s. We’re desperately trying to please everybody else and look like we’re really successful and happy, it’s just such b******t. You should focus on the things that bring you joy and happiness.’
Vicky and Ercan are now well and truly settled into engaged life, but they’re ‘stopping to smell the roses’ instead of hurrying towards their big day, which the Geordie lass hopes will be a big ‘family celebration’.
