Bruce Willis’s masterful harmonica skills were in no doubt in a clip posted on Monday to Instagram by his wife Emma Heming, who described his performance as an ‘impromptu jam session’ with musician pal Derek Richard Thomas.
The 67-year-old Hollywood star, whose family announced his aphasia diagnosis in March, was sitting at the bottom of the stairs at home in jeans, trainers and a checked shirt as he played along with Derek’s singing and guitar playing.
Emma, 44, shared the black and white video clip of their smooth performance on social media, writing: ‘Their talent is speaking for itself. I’ll just leave this here 🎶’
Alongside his glittering acting career in movies like Pulp Fiction and Die Hard, Bruce is an accomplished singer and musician who has released three albums.
His debut, a soul and rhythm and blues album called The Return of Bruno, was released in 1987, followed by two more in 1989 and 2001.
Bruce appeared in good spirits, and earlier in the day Emma had shared a sweet photo of him with eldest daughter Rumer, 34, as they hugged on the porch outside.

‘Beedub and that first born love,’ she posted in the caption.
In March, Emma, Rumer, Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore and their other two grown-up daughters, Scout and Tallulah, all posted a message on their Instagram pages announcing the news of his aphasia.
Saying that he was ‘stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him’ as he retired from the screen after more than four decades, they explained that ‘our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities’.

They added: ‘We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.
‘As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.’
What is aphasia?
Aphasia is a condition that impacts a person’s language skills.
This means it can cause trouble with:
reading
writing
listening
speaking
According to the NHS, it usually starts due to damage to the left side of the brain after something like, for example, a serious head injury or a stroke.
Perhaps most noticeably, people who have aphasia might have problems speaking, such as by possibly mistakenly using certain words, using the wrong sounds, or using words in the wrong order.
It does not impact a person’s intelligence, but it can emerge both by itself or alongside other health issues like mobility problems and issues with memory.

The family later thanked fans and friends for the ‘exquisite outpouring of love’ as people rallied round the popular star in the wake of his diagnosis.
Since then, Emma has kept people up to date with Bruce’s day-to-day life, including an emotional return visit to the top of the Fox Plaza in Los Angeles, which stood in for the fictional Nakatomi Plaza in 1988 blockbuster Die Hard.

She also gave a rare glimpse of him with younger daughter Mabel, 10, last month as they faced off in a dance battle to Lizzo’s hit song About Damn Time.
The couple also share eight-year-old daughter Evelyn Penn.
