Excitement and speculation surrounding the new series of Big Brother has been mounting ever since its return was announced, with many fans wondering who will present the show.
However, aside from the array of TV personalities being touted as possible hosts, fans across the nation are also wondering who will make up the cast.
It’s been claimed that despite Big Brother moving over to ITV2 for its revival, having previously been on Channel 4 and Channel 5, it ‘won’t be like Love Island’ when it comes to its line-up of contestants.
While the bosses of Love Island might be behind the reality programme’s comeback, it apparently will differ significantly.
‘There will be a diverse casting across a range of ages, which is what made Big Brother so special,’ a source said, according to The Mirror.
‘It won’t be like Love Island, where the contestants are all young social media influencer types – they want “all walks of life”.’

The source added that there ‘will absolutely be no outside influence – just like in the original series – so they won’t get a day off every week like they do in the villa’.
‘It will have everything viewers came to love about the retro series, with nominations, a public vote and live evictions, but they want it to appeal to a new generation,’ they stated.
‘It will be old school Big Brother, but for your little siblings.’

It was recently reported that This Morning fan-favourite Alison Hammond was ‘top of the list’ to present Big Brother, with a source telling The Mirror: ‘Execs think she’s exactly what the show needs. She’s energetic, fun, relatable and she was on the show, so she knows it inside out.’
However, an ITV spokesperson emphasised that no decisions have been made as of yet.
‘All suggestions surrounding the host are pure speculation and absolutely no decisions have been made at this early stage,’ they said.
Nonetheless, Alison admitted she’d be up for the role, while adding that she believes Big Brother needs to ‘change it up a bit’.
‘We’ve got to put it out there to the universe. Let’s make it happen!’ she added.
