Warning: spoilers ahead for She-Hulk episode 1.

The release date for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is finally here, with the MCU’s latest superhero smashing her way onto fans’ screens on Disney Plus in spectacular form.

Starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who unwittingly gains superhuman powers from her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), episode 1 revealed how the protagonist first gained her abilities.

However, that wasn’t the only big reveal of the episode, as the post-credits scene addressed a burning mystery concerning none other than Steve Rogers’ Captain America (Chris Evans) and the question of his virginity… which many Marvel fans were likely wondering for years.

From Jennifer’s showdown with super-strong villain Titania (Jameela Jamil) to Bruce’s tear-jerking memories with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), here’s what went down in the first episode.

Jennifer Walters goes green after crash

Before She-Hulk’s premiere, fans wondered how the show would tackle Jennifer’s transformation into the green, hulking superhero, considering in the comics, she received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin after becoming injured.

In the series, after Jennifer and Bruce are driven off the road after being stopped in their tracks by a Sakaarian spaceship, resulting in their car rolling down a hill and crashing.

After Jennifer pulls Bruce out of the wreck, some of his blood drips into her arm, and she immediately begins transforming into a greener, taller, stronger version of herself.

Bruce also transforms back into Hulk, having been wearing an inhibitor to keep himself in human form.

Post-credits scene solves age-old mystery on Captain America’s virginity

Just before the car crash that set off the chain of events of the series, Jennifer was sharing her fascinating theory with Bruce concerning Steve Rogers’ virginity, as the voice of the Cap fandom.

She explained to her cousin that given how busy he was as Captain America – going from a war to being frozen in ice, dealing with multiple world-ending disasters and being on the run as a fugitive – she reckons he must have been a virgin (assuming no one knows that Steve reunited with his love Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter at the end of Avengers: Endgame).

While Bruce is initially reluctant to divulge any intimate details about his friend, in the post-credits scene for She-Hulk episode one, he finally relents when Jennifer goes on a drunken spiel about how sad it is that Cap – with ‘that ass’ – never got to have sex.

Finally, Bruce reveals what fans have been wondering for years, confessing: ‘Steve Rogers is not a virgin. He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO Tour.’

As Jennifer relishes in her discovery, Bruce realises his cousin isn’t actually drunk, as she celebrates: ‘Captain America fuuu-.’

Jennifer’s exclamation might have been cut off, but you can imagine the rest… with fans left in hysterics the hilarious post-credits revelation.

Bruce Banner shares tear-jerking Tony Stark memories

After Jennifer’s first transformation into She-Hulk, she winds up at a bar, where a group of women enthusiastically help fix her up in the bathroom when they find her in a state of disarray.

When Jennifer is approached by a group of men outside in an intimidating manner, she turns into She-Hulk, but Bruce knocks her out before she has a chance to do anything other than roar in their direction.

Bruce – now in the Smart Hulk form fans first met in Endgame – takes his cousin to a hideaway in Mexico, a facility built for him by Tony, boasting an impressive underground lab.

Bruce speaks fondly about his memories with Tony at the hideaway, having spent the Blip there, where he was able to integrate the two halves of his identity to become Smart Hulk, while Tony complained about Steve in the aftermath of their falling out in Captain America: Civil War.

With an Iron Man mask spotted in the villa and Bruce and Tony’s initials scratched into the bar, fans will undoubtedly be incredibly emotional over the references to the late Avenger.

She-Hulk proves a worthy match for Smart Hulk

When Bruce first takes Jennifer to Mexico, he’s under the impression that she’ll be in the same boat as he was when he first became Hulk – unable to control her transformations and battling with an alter ego for years.

However, it quickly becomes apparent that Jennifer’s experience is completely different, as she has complete control at all times.

Having mastered all of her cousin’s training activities, from dialectical behaviour therapy to cliff punches, Jennifer decides she’s going to go back to her life in the real world as a lawyer – but a fight with Bruce ensues when he tries to make her stay.

She proves a worthy match for the Hulk, with their duel only ending when they accidentally destroy Bruce’s beloved bar… before they work together to fix it back up again.

A duel with Titania reveals She-Hulk to the world

When Jennifer returns to her normal life, only her family and her best friend and paralegal Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) are aware of her Hulk of a secret.

However, while in court, about to deliver her closing argument in a case, she’s forced to reveal her She-Hulk self to the world when a superpowered influencer called Titania (Jameela Jamil) smashes into the courtroom, causing havoc and destruction.

Now that She-Hulk has been exposed, defeating Titania with ease, how will the rest of her life be impacted… especially after Jennifer is fired from her job over the courtroom brawl?

She-Hulk is available to watch on Disney Plus with new episodes released on Thursdays.
