A children’s book published last year by Sir Paul McCartney has inspired a special episode of Cosmic Kids Yoga, the online children’s yoga series.
The book, entitled Grandude’s Green Submarine, which was released in September 2021, was published by Penguin Books.
A sequel to Sir Paul’s first picture book, 2019’s Hey Grandude, its story follows Grandude and his grandchildren as they head beneath the waves.
Once underwater, they set out on an adventure to find Nandude, their music-loving grandmother.
Now, in this new episode of Cosmic Kids Yoga, the book’s tale is blended with yoga to provide children with the experience of practising mindfulness.
Grandude and his grandchildren, known as ‘the chillers’ in the book, are guided towards Nandude by her music – written by Sir Paul, 80, himself.

Cosmic Kids Yoga was started in 2012 by Jaime Amor, who continues to write and present episodes to this day – including the one featuring Paul’s music.
The YouTube channel has racked up over 350 million views since it posted its first video a decade ago.
In the episode, Amor, 43, uses Grandude’s Green Submarine’s storyline to guide young viewers through a yoga routine prioritising strength, balance, and confidence.

The pop legend and former Beatle has long been an advocate of yoga and is said to practise regularly at home in his spare time.
Last year, he raved about so-called ‘eye yoga’ on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners: ‘Your eyes are muscles, you can [exercise them].’
The Grammy Award-winning songwriter invented the character of Grandude and based his name on a nickname given to Paul by his own grandchildren.
