Daniel Ricciardo appears to confirm relationship with former F1 driver Gerhard Berger’s daughter Heidi Berger-Mel Evans-Entertainment – Metro

Daniel Ricciardo has seemingly hard-launched his girlfriend into our social media orbits, and, well, what a good-looking couple, eh?

That’s right, this is no soft-launch season, after the McLaren Formula One star went and shared a bunch of pics from a recent wilderness-drenched vacay with apparent paramour Heidi Berger.

Heidi is reported to be an aspiring model and actress but perhaps the kicker, and how she may have met the Aussie racer, was due to the fact her dad is 10-time Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger.

Makes sense they would have come into contact around pit lane, non?

Now, yes, he is hardly publicly using the G-word, but this is no new love if you believe reports that come out about these sorts of things, as they’re wont to do, as, according to sources, Daniel and Heidi began dating as far back as 2019.

It seems they were keen to keep their romance on the DL but now, giving 2022 a bit of spice, the pair are keen to shout from the rooftops AKA post a cheeky gallery to Instagram, declaring their coupledom.

In the series of images posted to 33-year-old Dan’s page on Sunday, in which he’d tagged Heidi, the pair looked to be enjoying a bunch of activities, such as hiking over waterfalls (romantic), swimming in streams (delightful) and getting up close and personal with the Hollywood sign (something us normal people will never get the chance to do, legally).

Another photo saw Daniel and 25-year-old Heidi posing with photographer Corey Wilson, as well as model Jess Hart and her fiancé and Nascar star James Kirkham, pearly-white smiles gleaming, with the driver captioning the dump with a tree and smiley emoji, adding: ‘Us.’

In the carousel was also a small clip in the mix saw Daniel jokingly proclaim a vast gorge of cliffs and trees was ‘New York City’.

Daniel was previously linked to fellow Aussie Jessica Gomes, following his split with high school sweetheart Jemma Boskovich in 2016.

It comes amid reports around the mysterious decline of Daniel on the track this season, with the Australian vowing to fight on and get back to his best with McLaren.

He signed a three-year deal with the team when he joined from Renault in 2021 but has largely struggled since the move.

Daniel finished behind teammate Lando Norris last season, although he did claim victory at the Italian Grand Prix, McLaren’s first win since 2012, and this year the gap between the two drivers has widened.

The driver has previously reiterated his desire to stay with the Woking team, and McLaren CEO Zak Brown had also said that he wanted the eight-time race winner to see through his deal, although he did admit he hadn’t lived up to expectations.

‘There have been a lot of rumours around my future in Formula 1, but I want you to hear it from me,’ Daniel wrote on social media in July.

‘I am committed to McLaren until the end of next year and am not walking away from the sport.
