After a year’s hiatus, the PGA Tour 2K series is back with a new instalment, a release date, and pre-order details.
Whereas EA’s return to golf games isn’t due until 2023, 2K has already announced a hard release for its own PGA Tour game, as its PGA Tour 2K series continues after skipping last year.
Simply titled PGA Tour 2K23, the standard edition will launch on October 14, with two special editions – the Deluxe and Tiger Woods Editions – arriving a few days earlier on October 11.
Oh, in case it wasn’t obvious, Tiger Woods is PGA Tour 2K23’s cover star, with all three versions having unique painted portraits of the golfer.
Woods’ status as cover star was already confirmed last week but, aside from being a playable golfer, he’s also an executive director on the game, meaning he’s advising the development team.
‘It’s not only great to be back on the cover of a video game, but the executive director role makes this a truly unique opportunity,’ says Woods.
‘2K is the perfect partner for me and I am excited to continue impacting the game and culture of golf beyond my play on the PGA Tour.’
PGA Tour 2K23 will feature 20 licensed courses and 14 playable golfers, including Woods, at launch, with 2K promising to add more of both as free DLC.
Pre-ordering any edition of the game will net you a Michael Jordan Bonus Pack, which adds extra cosmetics and the former basketball star himself as a playable golfer. It’s not a pre-order exclusive though, since it will be sold separately after the game has launched.
We were a bit confused by this addition, but Jordan’s apparently an avid golfer, having hosted his own golfing tournaments in the past.
As for the Deluxe and Tiger Woods Editions, they come with additional cosmetics not included with the standard edition, with the latter also boasting exclusive Tiger Woods related cosmetics.

Furthermore, 2K is offering cross-gen dual entitlement for the Xbox and PlayStation versions. So, if you buy the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version, you’ll get the Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 version for free and vice versa.
Exact details and pre-order options can be found on the official website.
PGA Tour 2K23 launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 14.
